A Bold Vision. Real Solutions
People Over Politics Proven Leadership
Serving and Advocating for Prince George'sCounty Residence Since 2008. My most important work experience was serving on the Prince George’s County Board of Education from 2018-2022 as the elected District 6 School Board Member. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I represented students, parents, community members, and school employees while helping navigate unprecedented challenges in education. This experience strengthened my leadership, decision-making, and advocacy skills while working to ensure families and schools received the support and resources they needed during a critical time.
Protecting your Legacy
Dedicated to educating residents about estate planning, committed to improving customer service within the Register of Wills Office and Prioritizes compassion during life's most difficult moments. I served as a Board Member for the Prince George’s County Public Schools, where I helped provide oversight for one of the largest school systems in the region. My responsibilities included oversight of a budget exceeding $1.2 billion, 208 schools, approximately 132,000 students, and more than 20,000 employees. This role required strong leadership, accountability, strategic planning, and collaboration to ensure that students, families, educators, and staff were supported while maintaining responsible governance of a large public institution.
Admnistrative & Organizational Experience
Strong understanding of how public offices must serve residents efficiently. Expereince in managing initiatives and coordinating community efforts. Skilled in communication, documentation, and accountability. I do not have legal experience as an attorney, and I understand that the Prince George’s Register of Wills is prohibited by law from providing legal advice. However, as a former guardianship and foster parent, I have experience working with the court system and navigating legal processes affecting families and children. In addition, my experience in mediation, public governance, policy oversight, and working within legal and regulatory frameworks comes from my service on the Prince George’s County Board of Education. In that role, I participated in matters involving education law, ethics, compliance, contracts, and public accountability.
As you can see, I have experience working with legal and administrative processes through public service, policy oversight, and governance within large public institutions.
Commitment to Transparency
Advocates for clear communication and responsible goverance. Believes public offices must operate with professionalism and intergrity. Along with ensuring efficience and accountability in operations.
One area that needs improvement at the Prince George’s Register of Wills is the process for receiving and processing documents. Residents would benefit from faster service timelines, clearer communication regarding case status, and a more streamlined submission process. Additionally, there should be a more accessible and convenient “on-the-go” option for residents to register wills electronically or through a simplified online system. Improving digital access and reducing in-person barriers would make services more efficient and user-friendly for the community.
